Real Wood Top Layer Flooring

Real Wood Top Layer flooring brings the authentic warmth and character of genuine hardwood into every room. Across all five engineered collections — Sierra, Westvale, Aurelia, Hudson, and Belmont — each plank carries a real wood veneer over a stable engineered core, delivering the organic grain, natural variation, and timeless presence that only true hardwood provides. Designed for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, and offices, real-wood flooring creates the grounded architectural foundation that defines a considered interior.

    Real Wood Top Layer Flooring

Every product in this collection has a genuine hardwood veneer as its visible surface. The veneer is real wood from the tree — not a printed photograph or vinyl imitation — bonded to a multi-layer engineered core for dimensional stability. The character, grain, knots, and natural variation are organic features of the actual wood, not printed reproductions.

Real wood is what designers and homeowners reach for when authenticity matters: dry living areas, dining rooms, bedrooms, offices, and any space where the floor will become part of a coordinated material palette alongside stone, plaster, linen, and warm metals.

Five Collections With Real Wood Veneer

    • The Sierra Collection. 1mm European Oak veneer, entry tier, eight color options.
    • The Westvale Collection. 2mm European Oak or American Hickory veneer, mid-entry tier.
    • The Aurelia Collection. 4mm sawn European Oak veneer, premium tier, wide-plank options up to 10.25 inches.
    • The Hudson Collection. 4mm Premium American Black Walnut or 3mm Light Rustic American Hickory veneer.
    • The Belmont Collection. 6mm sawn European Oak veneer, top tier, the thickest in the program.

    Why Real Wood Still Matters

Wood-look vinyl is high-realism printing, and at normal walking distance most people can't tell the better wood-look patterns from real hardwood. The difference is character. Real wood develops naturally — gradual subtle color shift under sun exposure, slight grain movement that gets clearer over years, the warmth of a material that grew rather than was manufactured.

    Refinishing and Long-Term Value

Veneer thickness determines refinishing potential. The Aurelia Collection and Hudson Walnut (4mm) support two to three professional sandings. The Belmont Collection (6mm) supports approximately three. Hudson Hickory (3mm) supports one to two with care. The Sierra and Westvale collections support screen-and-recoat refresh.

    Installation

All real-wood-top flooring is engineered for glue-down installation over a moisture-tested concrete slab. Nail-down installation over a wood subfloor is also supported. A typical 1,500 to 2,500 square foot home takes about two days to install.

    Lifespan

With proper care, engineered hardwood can last 30 to 50 years and beyond. The thicker-veneer Aurelia and Belmont collections can be refinished multiple times, extending the life of the floor across generations of use.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What does 'real wood top layer' mean?

Every product in this collection has a genuine hardwood veneer as its visible surface. The veneer is real wood from the tree, not a printed photograph or vinyl imitation, bonded to a multi-layer engineered core for stability.

Which collections have a real wood top layer?

All five hardwood collections: Sierra (1mm European Oak), Westvale (2mm Oak and Hickory), Aurelia (4mm wide-plank Oak), Hudson (4mm Walnut and 3mm Hickory), and Belmont (6mm Oak).

How is this different from wood-look vinyl?

Wood-look vinyl is a printed photograph protected by a clear wear layer. Real-wood-top flooring is genuine hardwood you see, walk on, and touch. The character, grain, knots, and natural variation are organic, not printed.

Will the wood color change over time?

Yes, very gradually. All real wood lightens or darkens subtly under sun exposure over the years. Walnut shifts slightly lighter; oak deepens slightly. The change is so slow most homeowners don't notice it, and window treatments and rotating rugs keep the change uniform.

Can I sand and refinish real-wood-top flooring?

Depends on the veneer thickness. 4mm Aurelia and 4mm Hudson Walnut support two to three refinishes. 6mm Belmont supports approximately three. 3mm Hudson Hickory supports one to two. 1mm Sierra and 2mm Westvale support screen-and-recoat refresh instead of full sanding.

How do I care for a real-wood-top floor?

Sweep regularly to remove sand and grit. Use a hardwood-specific cleaner for deeper cleaning. Never wet-mop, use steam, or use vinegar or ammonia. Wipe spills promptly, use felt pads under furniture, and place rugs at heavy entry points.

Are these floors suitable for kitchens?

Yes. Engineered hardwood is suitable for kitchens with normal hardwood care, wiping spills promptly. For homes with very wet kitchens or where waterproof performance is a priority, consider vinyl SPC, WPC, or Dune.

    How are these floors installed?

Glue-down to a moisture-tested concrete slab is the standard method. Nail-down to a wood subfloor is also supported. We strongly recommend professional installation for glued hardwood, since concrete moisture testing and adhesive selection matter.

How long does a real-wood-top floor last?

With proper care, engineered hardwood can last 30 to 50 years and beyond. Thicker veneers (Aurelia, Belmont) can be refinished multiple times, extending the life of the floor across generations of use.

Is real-wood-top flooring better than waterproof vinyl?

Different products for different jobs. Real wood is the authentic premium choice for dry living areas, dining rooms, bedrooms, and offices. Waterproof vinyl is the right choice for wet rooms, active homes, and commercial use. Many homes use both.
