Installation Guide

Details

Mounting Styles: The magnetic track system can be installed in four configurations: Plaster-in (trimless), Embedded (recessed), Surface-mounted, and Suspended (hanging). Choose the method that matches your space and ceiling structure.
Power Supply: Connects directly to a ceiling or wall junction box via an integrated power feed. Some layouts may use a remote driver or surface driver box.
Fixture Attachment: Light modules snap magnetically into the track and can be repositioned without tools.
Ceiling Compatibility: Supports installation on flat or sloped ceilings.
Dimming: Many modules are dimmable. Always verify compatibility with dimmers and power drivers before use.

Tools You May Need
  • Drill and drill bits
  • Screwdriver
  • Voltage tester
  • Wire stripper
  • Wire nuts
  • Mounting anchors and screws
  • Measuring tape and pencil
  • Level
  • Optional: drywall saw (for embedded installs)
  • Optional: suspension cables and ceiling toggles (for hanging systems)
Installation Steps

Step 1: Turn Off Power
Shut off electricity at your breaker panel before starting. Use a voltage tester to confirm power is off at the junction box.

Step 2: Select Mounting Type and Prepare Surface
Choose one of the following installation styles:

  • Plaster-in (Trimless): Cut and frame the ceiling to embed the track channel flush with drywall. Once installed, apply joint compound around the edge and sand smooth before painting.
  • Embedded (Recessed): Cut a ceiling slot to fit the track body. Slide the channel into the opening and screw it into joists or framing using the provided holes.
  • Surface-Mounted: Align the track directly on the ceiling and secure it with anchors and screws through the pre-drilled mounting holes.
  • Hanging (Suspended): Measure and mark suspension points. Install ceiling toggles or anchor bolts, then attach hanging wires to the track body. Adjust to your desired drop height before final tightening.

Step 3: Connect Electrical Power
At the power feed end of the track, connect the ceiling wires to the fixture wires:

  • Black (live) to black
  • White (neutral) to white
  • Green or bare wire to ground
Use wire nuts to secure each connection. Tuck wires neatly into the junction box and secure the power feed cover or enclosure.

Step 4: Join Additional Tracks (if applicable)
If your layout includes corners or extended runs, use magnetic or mechanical connectors to join track segments. Ensure electrical continuity by aligning the copper conductors inside the channels.

Connector Types

  • I-Connector: Used for linear, in-line connections between two straight track sections.
  • L-Connector (Ceiling to Ceiling): Makes 90° ceiling turns.
  • L-Connector (Ceiling to Wall): Allows transition from ceiling-mounted tracks to wall-mounted segments.
  • T-Connector: Enables three-way connections for branching track layouts.

Choose the appropriate connector based on your layout and desired direction of the track run. All connectors are designed for quick snap-in assembly with magnetic or mechanical alignment.

Step 5: Install Magnetic Light Modules
Once the track is powered, attach the light modules by simply snapping them into the channel. The magnetic system ensures both mechanical hold and electrical contact. Modules can be repositioned or swapped at any time without tools.

Step 6: Restore Power and Test
Switch power back on at the breaker. Use the wall switch or connected dimmer to activate the system. Check that all modules illuminate properly and that dimming or directional functions (if available) operate as expected.

Important Tips
  • Use only compatible magnetic fixtures and drivers as specified in your product guide.
  • For trimless and embedded systems, installation is best done during the construction or remodeling phase.
  • Secure all suspension cables and verify weight capacity when using the hanging mount.
  • Avoid over tightening screws near trimless or recessed edges to maintain a flush finish.
  • For complex layouts or multi-zone dimming, consult an electrician or lighting specialist.
